How Far We've Come

image
Been going to a lot of May celebrations! Birthdays, graduations, sending-away parties...sometimes I forget how time flies. One day I'm 18 and the next, I'm 25. Or, one moment, my friends just started medical school and now, they're doctors. And even more, a new friend becomes a long-distance friend even after a year of knowing her.
Cherish the time you have with others guys! You don't even realize how fast it goes. And remember how far you've come from who you were in the past and how much more you still have to accomplish.

Some memories from this week:

Willie and Vernon's makeshift "photobooth" at Charis. Willie's husband is starting his family medicine residency in Utah and Vernon is moving to Oklahoma to start a speech therapy Master's program.

With Josephine over at the Yee's; she was sneaky about the dinner invitation! I had no idea it was her birthday until I got there. Best story of the night was how "Chef" Sherry spiked brownies with curry for Sunday school and it turned out to be the nastiest brownies anyone has ever had. And she did it to get the message across that sin is appealing initially but bites you in the butt after you taste it. Knowing that another Charis' member, Isak, absolutely HATES cucumbers, she also laced birthday brownies with pureed cucumbers and cucumber juice to secretly get him to eat it.

And to finish it off, listen to Matchbox Twenty's "Let's See How Far We've Come:"
